Pure Green Gardens – From Veg to Flower
Our plants are now a couple weeks into flowering and we wanted to cover what went on during the transition into the flowering stage and any changes we made to prep for this stage of development.
About 3 ½ weeks before moving our developing plants to the flower room we transplanted them into 10 gallon smart pots where they will remain for the duration of their life cycle. This added room will allow for plenty of new root growth and the increased aeration, drainage and heat release from the smart pots will continue to aid in the development of a healthy root system.
We will continue to use the Nectar for the Gods #4 soil along with the Pro Level line of nutrients as we move into this next stage. The nutrient quantities will gradually increase as the plant approaches maturity. The ratio between specific nutrients will change slightly as the plant will need certain elements more than others later in the life cycle.
Once moved into the flower room, the plants will benefit from the 1000 watt HPS light and increased C02 control, which will promote flower growth and help with the transition.
Early flowering characteristics are beginning to show in these first couple of weeks along with continued vegetative growth. The first few weeks of flowering see quite a bit of vigorous growth from the plant before it begins to concentrate it’s efforts solely on producing flowers.
Keep an eye out for our next blog where we will dive a little deeper into what it takes to maintain a healthy crop during these crucial stages and follow us on social media (@puregreengardens) for regular updates on our progress!
